The director and founder of Escola de Samba BOOM, is Richard Siegler, a life long percussionist who has had a passion for Latin music all his life.  Having experienced the joy of playing with many large Samba Schools but not having one near his residence, he had dream to create and turn the public onto Brazilian Samba.  Starting out with a few drummers that turned into BOOM and now teaches the BOOM workshops as well as with local children who are interested in Samba.
